I'm sure you will be ok. i am a carpet fitter by trade and 11mm is fine with standard gripper, but when ordering the gripper if yr room is over 5m long u will need to double bank the gripper (lay the first along the wall with a gripper thickness gap between wall and gripper face then lay another behind it!!)
